Everyone has their own opinion on what the best movie of all time is. However, not many people talk about what they think is the best Christmas movie. People at Harlem High School took a vote about what the best Christmas movie is and many said “Elf,” on the other hand there are people who think other Christmas movies are better.
Everyone has their own opinion on which is the best movie and it just so happens that Janessa Humphreys (12) is “Home Alone.”
“I think other people should watch Home Alone because it is enlightening; if you are ever in a situation where you ever need traps you have to think very clearly,” says Humphreys.
Even though Humphrey likes “Home Alone” some people may say it isn’t the best compared to other Christmas movies like “The Grinch.” John Terry, Harlem Special Education Teachers, says, “I have enjoyed “The Grinch” ever since I was a kid. It’s silly but it also has a really good human side to it because it talks about underlining emotions.”
Both movies are funny and can make you laugh and not think about much when you watch it. That’s why so many people enjoy those movies too.
Terry says, “I think that it is extremely entertaining and it’s a movie you can watch on a snowy night.”
All Christmas movies are amazing for snowy nights or even snowy days. You can watch that at any point in the year, not only during the Christmas season. They are meant to be enjoyable when you are having a bad time and you need a laugh or even when you are having a good time and just want to relax.
Even though those movies are really appreciated, nothing can top “Elf. “Elf” is about a human, Buddy the Elf, who was raised as an elf. He travels to New York City to find his biological father. He is so cheerful which isn’t normal for New York City in the movie so he brings his Christmas spirit to the real world to try and help them.
Brayden Adkins (11) says, “I think others should watch ‘Elf’ because it’s a very good family movie, good comedy. It’s good for anyone. It is such an iconic movie.”
With the votes 28% for “Elf” that movie won over every other movie there was. Even though everyone has their own opinion on what they think is the best Christmas movie, many say it is “Elf.” To them “Elf” just gives them something other Christmas movies can’t.
Adkins said, “Christmas is such a good time of year. The stories bring it to life.”
Even though people have different opinions about the best Christmas movie, that doesn’t mean that you should only watch one movie. You should be watching so many Christmas movies. Christmas movies are meant for everyone’s enjoyment. The votes many have said “Elf” is the best Christmas movie ever however they are wrong because every Christmas movie is the best Christmas movie.
